Menemukan Harapan di Tengah Keputusasaan: Tanggapan Pendidikan Agama Kristen terhadap Kasus Bunuh Diri

Bunuh diri merupakan fenomena multidimensional yang mencerminkan krisis eksistensial, psikologis, dan spiritual yang mendalam. Meningkatnya kasus bunuh diri, khususnya di kalangan remaja dan dewasa muda, menandakan urgensi pendekatan yang tidak hanya bersifat medis atau psikologis, tetapi juga spiritual dan pastoral. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi secara kritis peran Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) dalam memberikan tanggapan konstruktif terhadap krisis keputusasaan yang berujung pada tindakan bunuh diri. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui studi pustaka dan wawancara terbatas terhadap praktisi pendidikan dan konselor pastoral, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi berbagai faktor pemicu keputusasaan, seperti hilangnya makna hidup, tekanan sosial, trauma masa lalu, serta kurangnya dukungan spiritual. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa PAK memiliki potensi besar dalam membangun ketahanan spiritual (spiritual resilience), menanamkan nilai-nilai kasih dan pengharapan, serta menghadirkan ruang dialogis yang aman bagi peserta didik untuk mengungkapkan beban hidupnya. Lebih dari sekadar penyampaian doktrin, PAK dapat menjadi agen penyembuhan batin melalui pendekatan holistik yang menyentuh dimensi kognitif, afektif, dan spiritual. Dalam terang iman Kristen, penderitaan bukan akhir dari segalanya, melainkan dapat menjadi medium pembentukan karakter dan perjumpaan dengan kasih Allah. Dengan demikian, PAK diposisikan bukan hanya sebagai instrumen edukatif, melainkan sebagai sarana pastoral yang menghidupkan harapan di tengah keputusasaan. Rekomendasi praktis diarahkan pada pentingnya pelatihan guru PAK dalam bidang konseling rohani, integrasi kurikulum yang responsif terhadap isu kesehatan mental, dan kolaborasi antara sekolah, gereja, dan keluarga sebagai ekosistem pemulihan.
